Counted Shadows began as a music project early in 2007, headed by guitarist Christopher LeBlanc in his small apartment in Woburn, MA. After years of being musically repressed by any number of outside influences, he decided it was time to get back behind the rig and show the doubters what he could do.
3 Songs were written as test material: Untouched, Lost and Hostile. Those three songs became the basis for written material moving forward and those songs continue to progress and develop as ideas spring forth.
In September of 2007, Brian Michael Jones, formerly of Bitter Season and Natural Aggression, was referred to Chris through a mutual friend for the vocalist/lyricist spot in Living Witness. Brians melodic and counter measure vocals quickly led to some dramatic changes to existing material. His vocal strengths lie in cunning lyrics and a sharp emphasis on setting the mood of each song. "As soon as I heard 'Lost' for the first time, I knew I wanted to be a part of this project," Brian says.
As of March 2008, the rest of the lineup remains a question mark, but Chris and Brian push forward, writing and recording new material on their own, with the use of digital recording software and a determination to move forward with their music. With 9 original songs and 1 carefully-chosen cover, they intend to finalize the lineup for live performances by Summer of 2008.
